I just realized something (about Droks and Cantha)
If someone has Factions, they don't really need a run to Droks anymore, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, but to get max armor all they'd need is to run or be ran to Lions Arch. Then from there take the boat to Cantha. And in the first town there they can get max armor. So is being run to Droks not so useful anymore? Assuming someone doesn't care if it's Canthan armor.

If you're going for your first armour, and don't care much for looks but want good AL, then yes this is a genious idea that i've implemented prior to this on my monk XD

yes.
and did you notice how its impossible to get a run throught the game in cantha, comparing to how its easy in tyria? i guess they decided to kill runners, so people that cant play, HAVE to learn, and not get used to just pay people to play instead |

I believe that you still need to ascend before taking the boat.

Last i checked GW Wiki, you don't need to be ascended. And I'm refering to new Tyria characters, not Cantha characters.

NO "ascension" is required.
That is a requirement that they originally stated, but changed before release. |

Actually, plenty of factions people get ran to droks. thats where all the elites are, and the mission that takes you to the ring of fire.

I belive they still do, seeing my new Cantha monk needed tatoo armor and Center didn't have it so I had to get a run to forge.

As far as I have seen, through completion, there are no Canthan tats at all. Unless it's hidden somewhere. The stats are there, but the style no.

I got my new warrior run by a friend to Lions Arch and took it to Cantha. Now my new Monk will be next. Then my Necro. I have a ranger than can run and our guild will probably take turns for each other. I guess the Drok runners won't ever get another gold coin off me again.

there is no need for ascension. I found early on I just don't like playing the mission quests that much and have not bothered with most of them so I have not even seen the desert yet (because I'm just that apathetic). But I have been to cantha with a couple of characters. (dragged my way to droks at a huge death penalty too but that's a different story)
Personally, I can be happy to never see another runner spamming zone again. |

Perhaps if I wanted to start a Cantha character I'd need a run. Or just wait til the max armor is available to me. But I'm not interested in Ritualist or Assassin. I doubt it would matter if I started a monk or necro there, or in Tyria in the end. Eventually all skills and elites are available anyways, unless I'm mistaken. And I'm not that interested in the Cantha story for new characters there.

we've taken un acended characters across the boat to cantha, unless they've fixed that.
You still sorta need a "run" if your starting in cantha however, although its no droks run to be sure. |
